Ms. Krish Gundu,
My name is Christina and I read the article today about the inmate who died from “COVID19” here @ Harris County Jail and so I’m reaching out to you from inside the jail my husband and I both are here-he was tested(+) last week here at the jail, I have not been tested as of yet but have been quarantined & just came off on the 1st of May I am here on a drug charge and have yet to get a bond, I also have a parole hold and no understanding as to why the parole board can not put us on ankle monitors- We are non violent offenders & have NO VIOLENT CRIMES EVER! We are being held here and the ultimate punishment is Death for what drug charges?? As soon as we came off quarantine, they packed this place like sardines, so all of us that have been here were just put at risk again. This is not fair! Our court dates have pushed til 06/30- I’m sure I’ll be sick by then! I don’t know what to do I have a daughter that needs me at home, And my mother in law Who has demintia, So my concern here is that the Board of Pardon and Parole are not doing their job! We can supervised just as well at home as in here and be safe! Judge Harmon Room 176, the public defenders won’t answer or return messages either, so we just sit….
Thank you for your time…. GOD BLESS
Christina
Please see if you can figure out why the parole system is not doing their job & helping us in Here
